Meet OurCity's Expert Editors
Jack Crittenden, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher
Jack is no stranger to San Diego. Not only was he was born in San Diego, but his family has a strong linage linked to the city as well. Jack's parents and grandparents were also born and raised in San Diego. As an undergraduate, Jack attended the University of Southern California and then proceeded to receive a law degree from American University in Washington, D.C. As a law student, Jack developed an interest in publishing and created a publication for law students that exists to this day. Jack returned to San Diego in 2002, and now publishes four magazines and three websites. He lives in Mission Hills with his two daughters.
Michelle Weyenberg, Managing Editor
Michelle, who has experience in both radio and print journalism, is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She came to Cypress Magazines in June 2007 and provides a fresh perspective to her stories and always scouts out the latest and greatest of San Diego. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys volunteering within the community. In the past she has been involved in Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity and volunteering at food pantries. Michelle has also dabbled in some community theater productions. Michelle currently lives in Point Loma.
Ted Crittenden, Heritage Editor
Ted has more than 20 years of design experience as an art director and set design professional in Hollywood. He has worked on more than 100 movies and theatrical plays and has been honored for his films as both director and art designer. He moved to his hometown of San Diego in 2005 and started Artisan Brothers Construction. Ted currently lives in Old Town.
